Safe Environment

Safe Environment Program

The Diocese of Salt Lake City is committed to ensuring the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults and providing pastoral outreach to victims and survivors of sexual abuse by clergy, church volunteers, and church employees.

PROMISE TO PROTECT, PROMISE TO HEAL

"Families need to know that the Church is making every effort to protect their children. They should also know that they have every right to turn to the Church with full confidence, for it is a safe and secure home. Consequently, priority must not be given to any other kind of concern, whatever its nature, such as the desire to avoid scandal, since there is absolutely no place in ministry for those who abuse minors." Pope Francis (2/2/2015)

Here at St. Andrew Parish and School we are committed to creating a safe environment for all men, women, and children.  In accordance with Diocesan policy, we keep records, educate, obtain any needed background checks, and assist anyone in need of further information or help regarding our safe environment program.

Complete Online Training

All volunteers and personnel for both the school and the parish must complete a background check and online training before they begin their work. This must be renewed every three years for as long as the person is a volunteer or is employed by the parish or school.
